Millennium Images is unique among picture libraries: it selects its photographers first for their artistic merits. This new catalogue showcases work by 325 individuals – established names, such as Chris Harrison, Nadege Meriau, Simon Norfolk, Michael Ormerod, and Edgar Martins appear alongside many rising young stars. Though their practices are diverse, these photographers share an unparalleled commitment to their medium. This catalogue features a naked bound spine with orange stitching, designed by Chris Thomson of Studio Thomson. The reductive nature of the binding is indicative of Millennium’s belief that images should speak for themselves.
About the Artist
Millennium was founded by Jason Shenai 25 years ago as a response to clients wanting to find photography that was ‘a bit different’ but not always have the budget or a clear idea of what was needed to commission new works. Initially Millennium Images consisted of works by a small handful of artist-photographers. They are based in Hackney, London and their team consists of a small group of artists and photographers.
