Faber closes a trilogy. And a dream. A visual and poetic adventure of two artists who have collaborated together, step by step, slowly, after the images, after the words. Sometimes it is difficult to know how our professional relationship has emerged, and only the distance of time has allowed us to reach a blade of the wind that has accompanied us. Perhaps we have been joined by a sensitive look at our closest environment. Perhaps. But deep down, we both know that we are working on the metaphor of loneliness. And this search for the absent has guided both the current and previous publications: Itxina, Landscapes of light (Bassarai, 2004) and Flysch and The returned look (Bassarai, 2006).
About the Artists
José María Álvarez Fernández is a Basque artist.
Born in 1962 in the seaside town of Zarautz (Basque Country), Kepa Murua entered the world of letters from early on. Renowned in every aspect of cultural expression such as painting, music or cinema, it is in poetry where his origin and voice can be found. Kepa Murua is an indefatigable writer, his style and features have that evocative manner that can envelop a reader whatever the chosen genre: poetry, essay, novel or article. As a cultural figure of the 21st century, he shapes the past and looks towards the future exorcising the demons that inhabit the shadow of his poetic universe.
About the Publisher
Bassarai Ediciones, based in Álava, was a Basque publishing house specialised in the editing and publication of literary works in Spanish in Basque territory until its liquidation in 2020. Kepa Murua, a graduate in Art History from the University of Oviedo, created the Bassarai publishing house in 1996 as part of a vital and professional program inseparable from his condition as a poet who understands reading, writing, his own poetry and the world of books in a certain way.
