This project is not about street photography, nor about NY, it has nothing to do with the search for spontaneity or new ways of looking. This side of nowhere is about me, about loneliness in front of the world, about my way of looking at it trying to find personal answers without specific questions.
In 2017 I decided to start this project in the streets of New York, a city far from my environment but inevitably familiar to me through cinema and the images of great photographers. It seemed interesting to me to choose a place of which I already had a very defined visual reference through the work of others, to establish a comparison and often surprise myself with my own vision, reaching certain conclusions about myself and about my relationship, often conflictive, with the rest of the human species.

About the Artist
“My interest in photography arose in the 90s in a very unoriginal way: with an old camera, a gift from my father, and the discovery of the work of artists such as Robert Frank, Diane Arbus and Gary Winogrand, a look that today has continued to mark my work and my way of seeing life. Shortly after, I studied Fine Arts at the University of Leioa (Bilbao) where a platonic relationship with the photographic medium ended up solidifying. ”
