pile is both a publication that could be put together by the public and a live publishing workshop that was activated for four weeks as part of the exhibition I call it art at the National Museum in August 2022. The work is a meditation upon physical prints, the past, the future, and artistic value.

About the Artist
Jessica Williams (b. 1986) is a conceptual artist and publisher whose vast practice hinges on the act of seeing. She is based in Norway. Her works, often collective and collaborative, beg the audience to reconsider that what they do not or cannot see in their everyday lives. She has worked with everything from self-publishing and experimental artist books to photography and virtual reality, and is especially interested in intimate and haptic experiences.Lately, Williams has worked with an experimental exhibition that spans over an entire calendar year at House of Foundation in Moss that is concerned with publishing, community, and identity. She has previously worked with strange bits of ocean plastic foraged in the inner Oslofjord that look like bits of real rock, and investigated the connection between mycelium and data centres: both of which are gigantic, invisible and affect us more than we know.

About the Publishers
Issue Press is a tiny publisher and Risograph print shop operated by George Wietor in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since 2011, it has worked with an elastic mandate to publish captivating works by artists of all mediums that trade in humor, history, and exploration of place. In addition to publishing, Wietor has initiated several side projects dedicated to the growth of the international Riso community, including:; An Atlas of Modern Risography; and with Matt Davis of Perfectly Acceptable Press, Wietor is a co-founder of the North American Risograph Conference (NARC), a gathering of Riso devotees held biannually in Chicago, Illinois.

Hverdag Books is a micro press and self-publishing studio, est. 2016 by the artist Jessica Williams and located in Moss, Norway. Hverdag publishes unique and experimental editions for and about the everyday. Hverdag has an in-house publishing workshop based around a Risograph CV3230 with 8 drums (colors) and gives frequent-ish workhops in self-publishing and risograph printing.
