The Photography of Kim Han-Yong – a commercial photographer of the 1960s – shows the birth of consumption culture and the capitalist development of the 1960s. This book is published in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Kim Han-Yong—Commercial Photography & the Birth of the Consumer’ at The Museum of Photography, Seoul from December 2011 to March 2012. Kim Han-Yong’s work is divided into five sections: Classic Beauty, Discovery of Consumer, Portrait of the Consumer, Charm of the Non-real, and Erotic. An interview with the photographer as well as essays by critics and scholars are included. A timeline of his life and career is also included.
