All Star Special is the first dedicated collaborative project of Billy Woods and Tim O’Connell. This publication contains photos taken by the duo over a two week period on a five thousand mile road trip in the USA. The pictures are a small selection from the wider project.
Front covers of this publication were made by Billy with faux cowhide and faux suede and screen printed by Belfast based artist Shauna McGowan.
About the Artists
Tim O’Connell (NY, USA) and Billy Woods (Belfast, IRL) have known each other for ten years and have developed their practice as photographers along side each other in this time. They find each others presence when making work to be an elevating factor to their practice and the resulting outcomes.

Billy Woods is a Belfast-based photographer and printmaker, with a focus on documentary work as well as a bold, gaudy and graphic approach to both his personal and studio work. An experimental approach to publishing and production influenced by DIY ethics defines his practice along with an ethos towards making his artistic output accessible and democratised.

Timothy O’Connell is a photographer from Boston, currently based in New York City. O’Connells practice focuses on longterm contemporary documentary work. He also works on commissioned commercial projects.
