The Urban Secret Garden photography project is about wandering, loss, memory and the search for home. Nalbantidou began photographing in 2010 as an improvisation during the course of morning walks in Thessaloniki, Greece, where it was published. This photobook was shortlisted for the International Photobook Dummy Award in 2013 which toured around Europe at the Milan Image Art Fair, PhotoIreland Festival, Le Bal in Paris, and in Kassel during the Fotobookfestival.
About the Artist
Lia Nalbantidou originated from and is based in Thessaloniki, Greece. An independent photographer and practicing artist, who mentors young photographers, she teaches at the School of Fine Arts – University of Western Macedonia in Florina, Greece.
