‘Monochrome’ is a complete exhibition in a book. Each chapter has a unique focus. Bread, but not as you normally perceive it. Meat, but not as you have ever seen it. Outside, but not how you normally view it. Through the use of photography and colour the daily routine becomes a thing of intrigue. Mémé Bartels embarked on a journey to explore “nothing”. Capturing nothing is her ultimate aim. Her search has led her to look into the overlooked and enhance it. Consequently nothing becomes something.
