German photographer Holger Niehaus combines technical virtuosity with compositions that are ingenious in both colour and their staging. Rather than simply photograph objects as he finds them, Niehaus engages in a lengthy and painstaking process of intervention with his still lives – applying paint to flowers, working precise holes into fruit or arranging sheets of coloured paper. About the Artist
Holger Niehaus (born 1975) is a German artist. He has exhibited internationally in Dubai, Canada and Germany.
About the Publisher
Willem van Zoetendaal is a graphic designer who has been producing photography books since the early nineties. In 1994 he started publishing his own books, first under the name of Basalt (in collaboration with Frido Troost) and then under the name of Van Zoetendaal Publishers. He is an active gallery owner and curator alongside publishing.
