Puklus deconstructs and questions the dynamics of the pre-established female and male roles; motherhood as an alleged heroic activity and the supposed duty of the father to build and protect the home. His search breaks down the traditional symbols associated with maternal and paternal figures in a playful yet critical way. Outside the confines of the photographic studio, he develops an original visual vocabulary around parental life and issues related to the construction of the family nucleus. Presented and internationally premiered at Images Vevey, Switzerland, the installation reconstructs everyday life and unfolds in the intimacy of home: in each room, the viewer discovers the complexity of ourselves.

About the Artist
Peter Puklus is an artist currently living and working in Budapest, Hungary. He studied photography at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest (MOME) and new media design at the École National Supérieur de Création Industriel (ENSCI) in Paris. Besides the photographic gaze which can always be found in the center of Puklus’ works, he recently started to explore undiscovered territories beyond the wooden frame. His recent projects involve sculptures, objects, paintings, installations, drawings, and videos. Either in the gallery space or in a photo-book form, storytelling has a substantial role. Puklus mixes different genres and media and makes them relate to each other.

About the Publisher
Witty Books is an independent publishing house that aims to promote contemporary photography and visual arts.  Our mission focuses on the diffusion and education of the images. Witty Books was founded in 2012 with the name of Witty Kiwi by Tommaso Parrillo.

Foundation Vevey Ville d’images contributes to the promotion and cultural development of the region in the field of visual arts, through the promotion of the “Vevey town of Images” concept. The Political Authorities created this concept in the 1990s to highlight a large number of companies and institutions related to image and visual communication that operate on the Vaud Riviera.
In order to accomplish its missions, the Foundation has three main activities, which it finances and develops over a two-year period: the Festival Images Vevey, the Grand Prix Images Vevey and the Espace Images Vevey. The Fondation Vevey ville d’images brings together all its operational activities under the Images Vevey brand under a single entity.
