Flashes from the Past is the first book by acclaimed Hong Kong-based photographer U Hei-shing and is a pictorial recollection of the old studios that shaped his early career. The photos were taken over a decade, and when combined, record a pivotal time in Hong Kong art history.
About the Artist
Hei graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a BA (Hons) in Photography. He is critically acclaimed for his exceptionally vivid approach to photography and since setting up Green Studio in 2000 he has worked for various ‘4A’ advertising agencies, and graphic and production houses, as well as contributing to many well-known periodicals. He is a vegetarian and an animal-lover, an avid cinema-goer and traveller, and he now shares a cosy studio with an array of plants, flowers and cats.
