Definitions is a continuation of an exhibition by the same name which took place at the Photoforum Pasquart in Bienne, Switzerland in 2009. The project presents an exploration of the photographic medium, its resolution, its supposed two dimensionality, its relationship to space, to painting, to text – and our preconceived notions about it.

About the Gallery
Founded in 1984, the Photoforum Pasquart is a platform for the promotion of contemporary photographic practices. Its exhibition space of 300 m2 is part of the Pasquart, the contemporary art centre in Biel, together with the Art Centre, the Filmpodium and Espace Libre.

About the Publisher
Éditions Riverboom is a cultural organisation made up of war photographers which aims to published a series called “Baechtold’s Best”. These are guidebooks, made up entirely of images, for unusual destinations like the North Pole, Afghanistan or Louvreland.
