Året, København 2018 (The Year, Copenhagen 2018) is a monthly photobook publication featuring contemporary works by Copenhagen-based photographers engaged in portraying the city of Copenhagen during 2018. Every month 5-10 photographers spend the 20 first days of the month photographing the city, consequently putting together a photobook featuring the results. Presenting different artists every month, Året will gather throughout the year a growing and diverse collection of perspectives and practices.

While Copenhagen has been named the most liveable city in the world several times, and we have seen many beautiful vistas of the Danish capital, the reality is always far more complex. This diary representing varied and personal points of view will offer readers an uncensored and unfiltered portrait of the city: “This is our Copenhagen”.

About the Artists
Julia Mejnertsen works with from personal experiences and narratives. Mejnertsen work is infused with nostalgia, an interest in family mythologies and the layers of local landscapes and every day objects. identity, often expressed in (wo)man’s (attempt at) domination over nature, is a prevalent theme often repeated in my work in one way or another.

Sune Amstrup focuses on the dissemination of personal experiences and reflections through photography, video, generative manipulations, found material and other media.

Peter Linde Busk (b. 1973, Copenhagen, Denmark) is a feral Academy artist, a painter whose skills and appetite for materials have led him to a style of painting that often closes in on sculpture and operates at an almost geological level, stratified and in contact with deep history.

Lotte Fløe Christensen, b. 1979, is a visual artist based in Humlebæk, DK. She holds an MFA from Valand Academy in Gothenburg, SE and a BA in Fine Art Photography from the Glasgow School of Art, SCO.

Mette Colberg is a Danish artist whose work explores transparency from both a material and an immaterial point of view.

Marie has a master’s degree in Film and Media Studies with a profile in cross-media communication.

Birk Thomassen is a fine art photographer based in Copehagen.
