‘1-900-660-GALS’ celebrates 80s women’s wrestling phenomenon ‘GLOW’ the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Through the combined visuals of the four talented artists of No Bad News, colourful characters, strong women, and over-the-top comedy sketches are brought to light in this once-off publication packed with action.
Famously, most of the performers on the television show’s all-women roster of wrestlers were actresses, models, dancers or stunt women hoping to enter show business. The zine captures their larger than life characters and memorable moments by visualising several of the choreographed bouts seen on the show.
A huge, stylistic spectrum of typography, graphics and illustration, with fluorescents and overlays capturing the 1980s aesthetic that was so integral to the show, and considered finishing details added to the zine which embrace the risograph print process wholeheartedly.

About the Collective
No Bad News is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2020 by four best friends from NCAD, NBN is pushing past the restrictive boundaries forced by a global pandemic, intending to build a post-college career path. With their colourful and fun graphic-led approach to design, the studio takes their inspiration from earth magic, positive attitudes, mindfulness, and the spirit of subculture promoting messages of peace and playfulness. No Bad News is extending their eight arms into different creative dimensions, from prints to clothing, books to exhibitions, and candles to homeware. Their creative appetite is ever-growing for new ways to design and explore, allowing them to enable a “why not?” perspective on the world of design, with the freedom to transform their work.
