In the words of a friend Owen O’Carroll, “Travelling offers three-dimensional simultaneous perspectives on where we are, where we were, where we are going, a stereoscopic threading of all moments of time and thought simultaneously. Movement exposes the fragility of time, place, and identity. It reveals the indelible link between the way we perceive what we perceive.”
This project coincided with the pandemic. The graffiti covered trains going to and from Barcelona were the catalyst. I was drawn to the beauty within the chaos. These images represent the breakdown that occurred in society over this time. A blurring of the lines, a confusion of reality, a masking of what is. The train, representing time itself, each picture a moment within time. The images speak about an impending moment, as we move towards somewhere, a moment in human evolution, a crossroads perhaps.
