Terra Obscura developed through the artist “comprehending what it means to be in a slowly unfolding catastrophe called – Global Warming”. The photographs represent an uncanny awakening to ecological awareness, and the anxiety that comes with it. TerraObscura consists of images which depict sites where manipulation and representations of natural processes occur, such as food production, power generation and wildlife preservation. Morgan’s photographs consider possible utopian and dystopian futures, imagining and anticipating what might be to come.

About the Artist
Clayton Morgan is a photographic artist whose work traverses the boundaries between documentary and conceptual photography. Drawing inspiration from the world around him, Morgan explores complex issues, shedding light on the diverse range of societal challenges that shape our world. Through his lens, Morgan navigates the intricate interplay between fact and imagination, crafting thought-provoking imagery that provokes contemplation about past, present and future. The realm of documentary photography serves as Morgan’s foundation to form connections and narrative surrounding our history. However, Morgan goes beyond the realm of pure documentary. With a keen sense of symbolism and metaphor, Morgan constructs visual allegories that prompt viewers to question and reflect upon the future of society, environment, and the human condition.
