X is a limited edition (1000) photography book by Charles Moriarty that captures the last decade of his work photographing men.The book brings to together an intimate collection and follows Moriarty’s own personal journey. “These photographs taken in mere fractures of seconds, represent so much of my life, and many of the men that have inhabited it. The subjects are queer, straight, artists, models, friends, family, and loves, depictions of masculinity, the beauty of the male form in many of its diverse presentations.” This litho printed coffee table book is 208 pages, shot over a ten year period with over 60 subjects, it contains an afterword by photographer Charles Moriarty, and an essay by author Gary Needham.

About the Artist
Charles Moriarty is from Dublin, but moved to London at the age of 18. In 2003, he started working as a stills photographer in the music industry and on the London social scene. Shortly after this, in 2004, he specialised in the field of Ocular medical illustration, and worked in numerous hospital’s in Ireland and England. He was a specialist photographer at Moorfield’s hospital from 2009 to 2012, running the paediatric photographic department. He has worked with Amy Winehouse, Hercules and Love affair, the TATE, BFC, USB, VICE, DIESEL, KTZ, Aitor Throup, Damon Albarn, 1814 magazine, Flaunt magazine, High Snobiety, Lee Roach, Benjamin O’Mahoney, Phoenix magazine, Natt&Dag, METRO and many more.
