In these works, Sibéal performs ‘healing rituals’ as a means of healing the mind and body. This body of work is where we first see her exploring performance within the natural landscape and within her own practice. These performances aim to be intimate portraits of her relationship with herself and the areas where she spent her formative years.
These works were created through and post lockdown, shot in remote locations within five kilometres of her family home. The performances and the landscapes where they took place are documented on medium format film, using various analogue techniques including pinhole photography, recording extended periods of time within a single image. This publication was produced as part of the Inspirational Arts Award 2020, where each finalist received a TLP Edition of their graduate project. Sibéal Riordan represented the Limerick School of Art and Design.
