Alexandra Road Estate features in three collectable photographic records by the influential independent publishing house Cafe Royal Books. Created by photographer and Fine Art and Illustration Lecturer, Craig Atkinson. They are quite simply a brilliant way of capturing a moment in time at the award-winning estate designed by Neave Brown, picking up more than simply the bricks, mortar and concrete – they capture the essence of what fascinates about post-war British architecture. All three zines are available from Greyscape. This is Park & Plant. Craig explains ‘My aim is to create a focussed and complete archive of British documentary photography. I publish roughly 70 titles each year with a small edition ‘archive box’ every 100th title. These archive boxes are aimed at major collections, libraries and museums — helping to increase the visibility of the work and making the books publicly accessible for as long as possible.
