My Pain Monster is an intimate portrait of the struggle Samuel Booth has faced living with chronic pain since his traumatic brain injury. For Booth, as with many who have suffered from similar injuries, this agony is a relentless monster that lurks within, hidden yet ever-present. By using camera movements and long exposures, Booth has been able to confront his pain and give it a face through a combination of photography and text. This project is a hope of solace and inspiration to all who struggle with physical and mental pain.
