Artists of various ages, with varied interests and bodies of work, embarked on a journey of communication in this book. Suejin Shin, the curator gathered 5 Korean photographers living in five different cities, and talked about the concerns they share as artists using photography as a medium, swapping insights about their work and its limitations. Over the course of nine months they got together ten times. As a result, Shin saw these artists wearing a powerful, psychological armor (a full metal jacket) in their belief that art is beautiful, painful, makes us see the invisible, and draw us by some irresistible force to the point that it transcends death itself.

About the Artist
Suejin Shin is a creative director, writer, and professor. Combining psychology of vision and theory of photography, Shin has pioneered a unique field where science and art converge. Her basic research is developed and performed using psychological methods to analyze photographic images; in the applied field she consults on exhibition directing, publishing, and artist support program.
