About the Editors
Livia Hurley is a Design Fellow at the School of Architecture where she teaches architectural design studio, and lectures in History & Theory. Livia also supervises research and leads workshops on the Master of Architecture (MArch) programme. Together with Emmett Scanlon she curated and hosted the 2020/21 edition of the UCD Master of Architecture Lecture series ‘Foreign Exchange: Conversations on Architecture Here and Now’, in partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland in Ireland. In 2016/17 and 2020/21 she was nominated for a UCD Teaching & Learning Award for Teaching Excellence and she is an invited studio critic to Schools of Architecture – CCAE, SAUL and TU Dublin (DIT).

Emmett Scanlon is an architect, graduating with a Masters of Architecture from UCD in 2000. He was born in Damascus, Syria and lives in Dublin, Ireland and Paris, France. His creative and design practice in architecture ranges across building and spatial design, public art, exhibition making and curation, research, education and writing. Behind all of this work is a commitment to making architecture accessible, strengthening its social and cultural relevance.
