‘I think the idea of ‘Altitude’ is a human centered philosophy. From the viewpoint of universe, everything exists it’s own place. From the viewpoint of human, then the idea begins which is higher or lower. Maybe they could not be measured, or could not be compared with. From the works of Choongsik Min, an early photographer in Korea, I tried to find the connection between modern photography and modernity, also the role of photography in contemporary.
Historically, the role and responsibility of photography was to record of the real world. In contemporary, photography is not only documents of something, but also includes different meanings. The image shown in photography cannot be  complete in itself. This work looks like seascapes, however, there is another story behind the image. Photography in contemporary is being complicated and abstract.’ – Hyungsik Kim, from leaflets with text included in the publication.
